Senior Civil/Drainage Engineer

OPPORTUNITY

The Transportation Engineering Division seeks to add a full-time Civil Engineer to provide roadway and drainage design for a variety of transportation projects including new alignments, RRR, capacity improvements and sidewalk improvements for collector streets, urban arterials, rural and urban expressways, Interstate and bridge replacements. The ideal candidate will possess good written and verbal communication and teamwork skills, the flexibility to complete a wide range of tasks including field work, exhibit the initiative and ability to tackle new projects and other challenges regularly.

JOB LOCATION: Jacksonville, FL

JOB STATUS: Full Time

EDUCATION & LICENSE: BS in Civil Engineering

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 10+ years roadway & drainage design experience

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop transportation construction plans and project exhibits; prepare cost estimates; reports, bid documents, technical memos; direct junior engineers’ design activities, coordinate with project managers, subconsultants and roadway engineers; assist in all aspects of roadway drainage design including bridge hydraulic studies, SWMF and culvert design, closed drainage system design, and erosion and sedimentation control; assist with marketing efforts including the preparation of technical content for proposals and LOI’s and participation in interviews and presentations.

REQUIREMENTS:
Florida Licensed Professional Engineer
Knowledge of FDOT Standards and Procedures
High level of proficiency in Bentley Open Roads Designer, MicroStation, GEOPAK, Microsoft Excel, and GIS
Knowledge of ADICPR, ASAD, HEC-RAS and HY8 are a plus
