Project Description:
Florida’s Turnpike Extension Roadside Improvements; Hainlin Mill Road to US1. This project is to enhance safety and improve traffic operations at the Hainlin Mill Rd interchange. The project includes widening Hainlin Mill Rd, Cutler Ridge Blvd, and the northbound Turnpike bridge over Caribbean Blvd. A new ramp lane will be added to improve traffic flow, and multiple interchange ramps will be resurfaced to enhance pavement conditions. The project also includes widening and resurfacing Eureka Dr, and resurfacing and widening the southbound Turnpike frontage road. Five bridges within the project limits will be repaired or widened. Additional improvements include the construction of noise walls at six locations, upgraded signalization and pedestrian features at key intersections, and the installation of LED lighting and ITS.
Florida’s Turnpike Extension (State Road 821) Widening; Campbell Dr to Tallahassee Rd. This widening project is designed to alleviate congestion and improve mobility along the Turnpike Extension by adding one additional travel lane in each direction and constructing a new northbound entrance ramp. Major construction elements include interchange upgrades along with the construction of 8 new bridges. Additional improvements include milling and resurfacing of the Turnpike, new drainage, installation of new noise walls, guardrails, LED lighting, ITS enhancements, and updated signage and pavement markings. Safety upgrades will feature the installation of wrong-way driving detection systems and the implementation of high-visibility signage and pavement markings.
