Project Description:

Eisman & Russo is providing design services for approximately 1,400 LF of a new two-lane urban roadway, installation of a new transit facility, a new parking lot and sidewalk access to Ball Park and a stormwater management facility.

The major objective of this project is to enhance the Jacksonville Transportation Authority’s transit service operations and to improve pedestrian access and connectivity to the major attractions and businesses within the community.

  • During the Conceptual Design for this project the following issues were considered key elements to provide a multi-modal facility to the public.
  • Alignment of the Cul-de-Sac to properly connect with existing intersection
  • Construction of a 10 foot sidewalk to accommodate pedestrians and bicyclists
  • Installation of driveways to provide access to existing businesses
  • Creation of green buffer areas to plant trees and enhance aesthetics
  • Provision of lighting along the corridor to improve safety
  • Functionality of the Transit facility for easy and convenient access
  • Environmental Assessment: In terms of environmental impacts, the proposed Transit and Roadway Improvements will not impact the existing Land Use and Access Management to either the “Boobie” Clark Park or the Bob Hayes Park.

This project complies with all mandated Federal Regulations to protect the use the existing Park Land when Federal Funding is used. (SAFETEA-LU)
